The Problem We Are Solving

The Indian language translation industry has historically lacked purpose-built professional tools. Translators working in Hindi, Gujarati, Tamil, and Telugu were forced to choose between expensive Windows-only software built for European language workflows — SDL Trados at ₹40,000–₹1,20,000/year, memoQ at $200–$270/year in USD — or work without professional CAT tools entirely.

Generic CAT tools provide no Indian-language-specific quality advantage. Their MTPE engines produce poor output for Indian languages. They require Windows. They bill in USD with no GST invoices. For a freelance translator in Ahmedabad, Pune, or Chennai, this was a structural barrier to professional workflow adoption.

He founded Localization Lounge in 2017 after years of working in multilingual content and localisation services for clients requiring Indian language translation.

His direct experience working with Indian language translators — observing the friction caused by USD-priced, Windows-only tools built for European language pairs — led to the creation of t09n.com: a professional CAT platform designed from the ground up for the specific needs of Hindi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu and other Indian language translation professionals.
